After a long spell away, lockdown, child starting Primary school, and a whole host of other things, I'm coming back!
In the meantime, I got a tattoo. There's a lot behind it, but the short version is the Mum elephant is me, and the little one is my little one. She's changed my views of the world a LOT.

Little one isn't so little any more! She's six years old now, and in P2 (Primary 2). She's absolutely loving school, and her Gaelic is impressive. She's now teaching me how to read her books.

The coos down the road are still going strong, new calves every year. Balemartine Fold. They got a new bull this year and he is a *handsome* chap!

Encountered a person making this on one of our beach walks. Rosemary gave them some extra shells she'd collected on the way. Next day it was done.

Before that was Feis, the local Gaelic music week. Rosemary loved it, and on the second to last day I took her, and all the kids from our little area to the school in the new Trust electric minibus. It's a bit weird when you've only driven vehicles with a clutch...there's no clutch! But lovely and smooth.

Finally...our house is being built! After many years of back and forth and builder hunting, it's started. Hopefully we'll be in next year.

<p dir="ltr">Oh yes, she also has an insatiable desire to play in the puddles!<br>

Who would have thought that having a baby was so time consuming?
Rosemary is now 13 months and allowing me some time at my computer. I see that Photobucket and Blogger are arguing and not showing my photos. Photobucket is also now horrendous for adverts and user interface, but now I can put photos directly on here. I'll go through and correct links over the coming weeks. For now, have a photo of my very happy girly at eight months:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJslY8ahsNkq5wzEvHfm7QXuiDqUCXpK8Zy1_SpjdzZ99Lnkoc4SW42gt3WP_MjfqdKqUG7ynLjul4jFAJA4liftc9-yXOi-5XyThobsIJfXyIBIG4N3woXIWeIGd68v1DakYnmbb7s1Y/s1600/8months.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJslY8ahsNkq5wzEvHfm7QXuiDqUCXpK8Zy1_SpjdzZ99Lnkoc4SW42gt3WP_MjfqdKqUG7ynLjul4jFAJA4liftc9-yXOi-5XyThobsIJfXyIBIG4N3woXIWeIGd68v1DakYnmbb7s1Y/s320/8months.jpg" width="258" height="320" data-original-width="1292" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
I've been using Instagram and a smartphone for most of our photos, so I'll have to go back and find them all.
Happy summer!Fluzzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10551699526195194894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4158471586708618422.post-3275666517941182392016-10-24T09:28:00.002-07:002017-06-28T06:12:48.429-07:00A visit to the beachToday the weather is gorgeously sunny, the wind is nearly non-existant, and we have wonderlust. Cue a trot to the beach!<br />
<br />
I still struggle to believe we are within 5 minutes' walk of this:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/LovelyBeach_zpsmus1ggjl.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo LovelyBeach_zpsmus1ggjl.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Rosemary had a sit on a rock:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/AtTheBeach2_zpsvl12nvln.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo AtTheBeach2_zpsvl12nvln.jpg"/></a>
<br />
Just to prove I do exist, here we both are on the same rock.<br />

<br />
We spent a nice time just sitting and looking. Very soothing.<br />

We've taken the booster cushion out of the car seat and she's well into 6m+ clothes. The floor is getting frustrating, so we have borrowed this for her to have a bounce in. She's only had one go so far and spent most of the time just staring from her new vantage point.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/DoorBouncer_zpslm44mcpk.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DoorBouncer_zpslm44mcpk.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
Two Saturdays ago was the school Gala day. Lots of fun was had, the school raised over £2000 towards school trips. Rosemary stayed awake for four hours taking it all in, and I won a tub of sweeties!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Sweeties_zpsfp0ufvye.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Sweeties_zpsfp0ufvye.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
Jo sold his ice cream. The chocolate was only one cone short of running out, but we ran out of cones first. The sun shone, teachers were soaked, teachers did a musical performance, and we came home with some strawberry plants.<br />
<br />
The following weekend it was time for a trip to the mainland. We had booked Rosemary's christening/baptism for Wednesday so we decided to leave the Friday before and spend the weekend in Lancaster with my parents and visiting friends. The weather was wonderful! My parents have some squirrels that visit their bird feeders, I caught this one in the act of nut-thievery.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/AcrobaticSquiggle_zpsfxumbxmi.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo AcrobaticSquiggle_zpsfxumbxmi.jpg"/></a><br />

<br />
<br />
There's an orchard and marsh area near them where these cows are being kept. Lovely walks!<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
We visited Rosemary's great grandad while we were down. He very kindly put on lunch for us and had a lovely time meeting his great-granddaughter. Rosemary loved it, and zonked in her pram as we walked back to the train.
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/WornOutInBare_zpsfhrrzjgd.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo WornOutInBare_zpsfhrrzjgd.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<br />
My Mum and Dad had bought a playmat and Rosemary had a lot of fun lying on it watching us all. Here she is grinning at Grandma.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SmilingAtGrandma_zps3urlfp4c.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SmilingAtGrandma_zps3urlfp4c.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
We had to check the dress and gown for the baptism actually fit, I don't know how people regularly put dresses on babies; it took two of us. Excuse the trousers!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/DressTrial2_zpsbfds3s2z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DressTrial2_zpsbfds3s2z.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
Blouse fitting was especially fun.<br />

<br />
We spent Tuesday traveling up to Oban via Glasgow and some shopping. Lunch in IKEA; bit of shopping in there (and getting lost!), and then a quick shop in Dobbie's garden centre next door.<br />
<br />
Wednesday was baptism day. Granny and Grampy had brought a wonderful, hand made, cake all the way up from Spalding.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/ChristeningCake_zpslr3j0whu.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ChristeningCake_zpslr3j0whu.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />

<br />
The baptism went well, Rosemary didn't wail at being baptised and only got a bit grouchy when she decided she was hungry. We had cake and coffee at the back of the cathedral and then went across the road for soup and sarnies. It was a great late morning/early afternoon and wonderful to see friends and family.<br />
<br />
After a good snack, nap, guzzle, and zonk, we went out for a walk in the evening.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/HelloGiraffe_zpsb2ra8rvq.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo HelloGiraffe_zpsb2ra8rvq.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
You need serious concentration when playing with your giraffe, you know.<br />
<br />
We spent the rest of the week recovering from our visit and had a chat with the architect about our future house layout.<br />
<br />
<br />
Rosemary is nearly five months old already!<br />

Rosemary, Pippa, and myself have been for a nice stroll along a quiet side road and now Rosemary is happily playing with giraffe on her playmat; Pippa is passed out in her crate; and I am uploading photos while the washing machine does the nappies.<br />
<br />
So, the shed. The house we're currently in doesn't have a garage or any sort of outside storage. Wouldn't be a huge problem except the trike needs somewhere and we do have things like lamp oil which are safer stored outside. So, after poking various websites, Jo found someone who was willing to send the kit via MacLennan motors. The kit where one box weighed 54kg. Have I mentioned that crofters are deceptively strong? There's one who does the MacLennan deliveries, he hoiked the 54kg (that's something like 8 stone) box out of the van on his own; Jo had to unpack it in situ! Never underestimate a crofter.<br />
<br />
And so the bits of shed sat/stood in the house for a bit until the weekend before my parents came up. That Saturday it was warm and fairly still, and most importantly dry, so Joseph and two friends set to assembling this shed.<br />
<br />
I popped out to assist every so often but Rosemary was having a hungry day so I spent most of my time indoors feeding her and changing bums.<br />
<br />
The manual suggests that two people will take approximately 6.5hrs to construct this thing. Nine hours later this was bolted to the concrete:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/ShedShell_zpssp9beanb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ShedShell_zpssp9beanb.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
and the roof was in progress:<br />
<<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/MidgeFans_zpsx94mjfrf.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo MidgeFans_zpsx94mjfrf.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
Why did we have fans plugged in outside? Believe it or not, they kept the midgies at bay. Jo looked like he had the measles the next day because of the bitey bugs.<br />
<br />
Rosemary wanted to supervise so she came out with her personal midge-proofing:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/RosemarySupervisor_zpsyijdck0h.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo RosemarySupervisor_zpsyijdck0h.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
Sunday afternoon the roof was done and, with the aid of my 6'4" dad, put on top.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/ShedBuilding2_zpsevz3d926.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ShedBuilding2_zpsevz3d926.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
and that was how it sat for a day or two. Dad and I assembled the doors while my Mum sat with Rosemary, and the shed was DONE!<br />
<br />
But four 10mm bolts versus Tiree winds? Yeah, right. Jo had purchased some marquee pegs and ratchet straps. We installed one about two weeks ago, and I put the other one over this week after hearing the shed making banging noises in some not-high-for-Tiree winds.<br />
<br />
It's looking pretty good.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/ShedAndCar_zpsrbzcnkr8.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ShedAndCar_zpsrbzcnkr8.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
That car? Prepare to see it driving around Tiree, slowly, and wiggly, I am going to learn to drive. I've had my first lesson (thanks dad!), but am a fairly long way from driving more than 15mph. Still, I only stalled twice and kangaroo'd twice; not bad for someone who has never driven before.<br />
<br />
We get in some lovely walks in this area and I finally have photos of highland cows! There are none in easy walking distance of Crossapol, so I lived here for four and a half years seeing only meat cows. Now we have this one and its pals just down the road:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/SummerCow_zpsn9wr93bh.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SummerCow_zpsn9wr93bh.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
Rosemary and I have also seen cruise ships off the shore:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/CruisingOffTiree_zpsdzgra5il.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo CruisingOffTiree_zpsdzgra5il.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/CruisingOffTiree3_zpsiifjmxoa.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo CruisingOffTiree3_zpsiifjmxoa.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
One lot visited this week and had a great time, the weather was wonderful for them too.<br />
<br />
Autumn is coming though, Rosemary had to wear a jumper at the weekend:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/WarmClothes_zpstvl4x8k4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo WarmClothes_zpstvl4x8k4.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
She liked the warmth, but not the restriction to her movement. Bulky arm seams are a baby's nemesis apparently.<br />
<br />
That's it really, we're adjusting to family life; the dog is adjusting to the new house; and I may one day catch up on my sleep. I'll leave you with a photo of Rosemary chewing her friend, mouton.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/EatingMouton_zpshcv0mnsb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo EatingMouton_zpshcv0mnsb.jpg"/></a><br />

We are now renting a house over in the gorgeous Balemartine. It's taken weeks to unpack; who knew having a baby added so much time to things?<br />
<br />
Babies also add to packing time, and you may find yourself packing the baby...<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/BabyInBasket_zpsgjbqfpsj.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo BabyInBasket_zpsgjbqfpsj.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
One sunny day we went for an explore. Rosemary decided her feet needed sunning apparently.<br />
<b><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SunnyFeet_zpsrlchdqow.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SunnyFeet_zpsrlchdqow.jpg"/></a></b><br />
<br />
Rosemary is three months old now! She's almost managing to sit and has great grip.<br />
<br />
One month old.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/OneMonth_zpsidw6ltji.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo OneMonth_zpsidw6ltji.jpg"/></a></a><br />
<br />
Two months:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/RosebugTwoMonthsOld_zpsb5sytvdk.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo RosebugTwoMonthsOld_zpsb5sytvdk.jpg"/></a> <br />
<br />
Three months, and growing like a weed!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/RosemaryThreeMonths_zpsv3oykczo.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo RosemaryThreeMonths_zpsv3oykczo.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
We had Jo's family up about mid August and Rosemary got to meet her Grampy, Granny, and aunties and uncles, and her cousin!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/CousinsTogether_zpsn5l6ngqq.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo CousinsTogether_zpsn5l6ngqq.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />

<br />
You wouldn't believe there is three months between them, would you? He's six months already, closer to seven now. He had a great time saying hello to his cousin, exploring things, and smothering himself in food! Broccoli especially, makes great body paint.<br />
<br />
We all had a wonderful week and the sun was out most of it too. Rosemary learned to grip things.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/Curler_zpswjfiazye.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Curler_zpswjfiazye.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
This did lead to her attempting to thieve the yarn I'm using to make her a blanket.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/YarnThief_zps7wrzz1ls.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo YarnThief_zps7wrzz1ls.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
<br />
I ordered her a sunhat, but didn't measure her head, need to put in a little tuck I think!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/BitBigMum_zpsq7io3mea.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo BitBigMum_zpsq7io3mea.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
She also had a few goes at sitting on sofas<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/Sofa_zpshddoa97l.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Sofa_zpshddoa97l.jpg"/></a><br />

<br />
<br />
She LOVES holding things now. Playtime has gained a whole new dimension.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/PlaytimeAug16_zpsgdfijpyb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo PlaytimeAug16_zpsgdfijpyb.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
We had a week "solo", just the three of us with Jo at work during the day; and then it was my parents' turn!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/GrandmaGrandadRosemary_zpsuhpi6574.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo GrandmaGrandadRosemary_zpsuhpi6574.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
My parents took lots of photos, I just enjoyed the extra bods and Dad's help putting up our blinds and finishing the shed.<br />
<br />
Yes, the shed! But that will have to wait for another post, I am being summoned. I shall leave you with a photo from today of Rosemary and her giant pal, Peter.<br />
<br />

Partly because they were a load cheaper than patterned ones and partly because I planned to dye them. Then Rosemary turned up early.<br />
<br />
Now I get some time between feeds I have started to dye them.<br />
<br />
Plain suit for reference:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/PlainSuit_zpsdgjyeb0z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo PlainSuit_zpsdgjyeb0z.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<br />
Attempted "bullseye" style (needs to be a bigger item)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/BullseyeSuit_zpsxtgenz6j.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo BullseyeSuit_zpsxtgenz6j.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Scrunched up, randomly banded, and soaked in dye:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/YellowSuit_zpssiwvjgya.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo YellowSuit_zpssiwvjgya.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Rolled top to bottom then dyed magenta with blue and blue with magenta:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/Purply_zps0o4kabdi.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Purply_zps0o4kabdi.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<br />
Rainbow!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/RainbowSuit_zpsqk3fl4lu.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo RainbowSuit_zpsqk3fl4lu.jpg"/></a></a><br />
<br />
<br />
I didn't quite make the dyes strong enough so this batch came out a little pastel. The second batch on the line is most definitely stronger.<br />

<br />
She's been doing the typical baby habits of eating, sleeping, and making waste. I love taking sleeping baby photos, the milk coma look is fantastic!<br />
<br />
One with Dad:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SleepyDuo_zpspsnz055z.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SleepyDuo_zpspsnz055z.jpg"/></a>/>
<br />
She curls up tight when I pull the cover off in the morning. Taking after Mum.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/ChillyBrr_zpsqgcunagk.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ChillyBrr_zpsqgcunagk.jpg"/></a>/>
<br />
Various milk-induced comas. Grandad Harrison can relate to these; warm, well-fed, and comfy.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SleepyHead_zpszebmbubn.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SleepyHead_zpszebmbubn.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/MilkComa_zpsyoyc2ece.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo MilkComa_zpsyoyc2ece.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/MilkComa2_zpsa557sjuw.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/MilkComa3_zps5utapubx.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
If you look on her at the right time, you can even catch Zonked (capital Z definitely earned!)<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SleepOfDead_zpsawh7o8wy.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SleepOfDead_zpsawh7o8wy.jpg"/></a>
<br />
Sometimes Mum is caught with the camera and given a Look:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/GoAwayMum_zpsqigadavw.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo GoAwayMum_zpsqigadavw.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<br />
<br />
We do have wakeful times too, but I'm usually too distracted saying hello. This time, the VHC came to say hello:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/BeingEaten_zpsqnrmzydc.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo BeingEaten_zpsqnrmzydc.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
She had her first shampoo experience last week, what a lot of hair!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/FuzzyHead_zpskusuzrvt.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo FuzzyHead_zpskusuzrvt.jpg"/></a>/>
<br />
She also got to try Mummy's knitting. Socks!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SocksWot_zpslep06nkr.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SocksWot_zpslep06nkr.jpg"/></a>
<br />
<br />
Turns out she's as good at wriggling socks off as she is hats. This is why we tend to keep her in sleep suits; anything else requires much redressing. <br />
<br />
<br />Daddy quote of the day: (after Rosemary has spit up) I don't understand how you manage to get it so far and so fast...and so quietly! <br />
<br />
Skills, Dad, skills.<br />

<br />
Don't ask how many photos have blurred limbs!<br />
<br />
She's five weeks today and nearly 11lb! 10lb 10oz at weigh in. I can believe it, my arms are starting to notice.<br />
<br />
Happy little bug! She's also sleeping without me right next to her, so I am getting some housework in every so often.<br />
<br />
My crafting mojo is slowly returning, along with my energy. We're at 3hrs between night feeds at the moment, so I am actually achieving sleep!<br />
<br />
Anyhoo, not much to report, still adjusting to motherhood. I shall leave you with a cute milk-induced sleepy Rosemary and her cute toes.<br />

I have been doing my best, we definitely enjoy our lie-ins. Rosemary has an alert time from 5:30 to 7am, and then it's zonk until 1pm-ish. But after that she has a really alert time, so we get up and then go back to be between 8 and 10pm, Mummy's energy levels depending.<br />
<br />
I know that isn't long, but when you're being woken every 1.5-3hrs for food and most likely having to sit up to burp and maybe get up to change a nappy, 6-8hrs of full consciousness is quite enough. Rosemary naps during that time, but Mummy takes the time to get things done and refuel.<br />
<br />
But we don't always leave the bed. Sometimes we have wakey time on the bed and play. Rosemary likes the unevenness, it allows her to practice rolling.<br />
<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BT3upkbb8W4?list=PLyZaiDCMf2IO511cvvE2U_dVuAyyPyRkF" width="480"></iframe>
<br />
I'm managing to get to my PC a bit more, so I can actually edit photos and videos. Although sometimes this is done while keeping myself pressed against the desk so little bod can doze:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/MultitaskinMum_zpsm9bjlo0v.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo MultitaskinMum_zpsm9bjlo0v.jpg"/></a></a><br />
<br />
We do have a carry cot, she spent her first week sleeping in it, and can still sleep in it:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/CuteSleeper_zpsbons6skb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo CuteSleeper_zpsbons6skb.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
But Mum is just too comforting. I get longer breaks if I either wear or carry her. Not that I mind, unless I'm dealing with the dishwasher or washing machine; bending is tricky while wearing a baby, squatting is better but requires better muscle than I currently have.<br />
<br />
On Thursday we had our first evening out. We went to Happy Hookers and had many snuggles and met many new faces and heard familiar voices. This did require a trip in the car seat and as it was a breezy evening, lots of blankets were used. Think Rosemary was worried she might be eaten by blanket!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/ScaryCarSeat_zpsiujfmf4a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ScaryCarSeat_zpsiujfmf4a.jpg"/></a><br />
<br />
I didn't get a huge amount of crochet done, so much newness requires lots of brainfood and so Mum was in demand. But I did get to socialise and enjoy company and silliness. Going again tomorrow, assuming it's on.<br />
<br />
Bathtime is becoming fun. We had a bit of a poonami on Monday, so we cleaned Rosemary as much as possible and then she joined me in the bath. It's lovely. She gets to wriggle and explore this water thing and then Dad dries her off while Mum finishes bathing. <br />
<br />
Anyway, a little lady has awoken and requires food.<br />

<br />
I got to 35weeks pregnant and then things started going a little weird. Baby and I had an episode of tachycardia (elevated heart rate), a week later baby hadn't moved for hours and my blood pressure was up, we got emergency plane'd to Glasgow. A week after that I had had chest pain and was emergency helicopter'd to Glasgow in case I had a clot. The week after that my blood pressure was up again, but I was due to go off island to the flat we'd booked anyway.<br />
<br />
Monday the 23rd May was gorgeous! Sunshine, light breeze, smooth seas. My parents had rented an estate car and we packed it full. Baby things, my things, big bags, the works. I was expecting to stay anything from two to four weeks, so I had packed clothes and entertainment and all sorts really.<br />
<br />
We had a lovely sail across to Oban on the Clansman, I was feeling pretty big and had swollen feet, so I spent most of the journey trying to unswell and having a rest. Then we drove from Oban to Glasgow. Gorgeous views, gorgeous weather, lovely! We arrived in Glasgow and met the landlady and settled into the flat. The bed was a bit low, but the frame was solid enough I could sit on it to get out.<br />
<br />
The next day I was booked into the day unit for 2pm to do a check on me and baby. Two hours later, the tests were back and it was decided that my body had had enough and time to induce baby. I spent the night in the hospital and then the fun began! Wednesday afternoon was a little tablet to "get things started", by Thursday morning I was definitely ready. Five and a half hours of pains, then 15 minutes of pushing, and we had our baby!<br />
<br />
She spent about an hour or so on my chest and then was transferred to a cot so I could change beds and be moved to the maternity unit...<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 0th birthday_zpskse2twoa.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/0th%20birthday_zpskse2twoa.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Once at the unit, Daddy got a cuddle:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo with daddy_zpsszjtho91.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/with%20daddy_zpsszjtho91.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The first few days didn't go so wonderfully. I was on a blood pressure medication that messed with her blood sugars and my milk was taking the usual time, so we had to supplement with formula. But we were finally released on the Monday. Jo had a meeting the following Friday and as we had the flat prebooked, we spent the rest of the week there. It gave the grandparents time to visit, the grandmas were very happy to meet Rosemary and have a good natter.<br />
<br />
Thursday evening, Grandma Bennett helped us do Rosemary's second ever bath:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo DSC_0331_zpsltkn8itg.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/DSC_0331_zpsltkn8itg.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
She didn't scream or grizzle, we were petrified! But all went well, and she was clean and happy.<br />
<br />
<br />Saturday the 4th June, we headed home. The trip through the airport was snoozed through:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo atairport_zpswrmi8kvd.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/atairport_zpswrmi8kvd.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
She woke up towards the end of the flight, demanding food, but completely unphased by the loud plane or the changing pressures. The pilot and co-pilot were great, they did a slow ascent and descent that allowed Rosemary to adjust her ears. I also got the baby liferaft and instructions, bit unnerving when your baby is nine days old.<br />
<br />
Not the best view, but we came home to gorgeous weather!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo SunnyReturn_zpsmrzu8jwt.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/SunnyReturn_zpsmrzu8jwt.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
She then proceeded to scream down the Tiree airport and all the way home, until she got fed.<br />
<br />
That afternoon, she claimed the bed!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BedHog_zpsfwe6fn3s.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/BedHog_zpsfwe6fn3s.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Yep, we have a crib, but she spends the bulk of the night cuddled up to Mum. It wasn't worth the screaming hissies and sleep deprivation. Plus, the angle of the bed helps avoid huge spit-ups. We still get spit-up, just not huge ones.<br />
<br />
It's rather interesting trying to use your laptop when a baby is sleeping on your chest/stomach; you can end up with unexpected limbs "assisting":<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo FootyHelp_zpsdij0pass.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/FootyHelp_zpsdij0pass.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
We've been to register her birth at the council office. I wore her in my wrap and as we don't have a summer hat for her yet, we did the knotted hanky trick:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo KnottedHanky_zpsmwsmzar8.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/KnottedHanky_zpsmwsmzar8.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Rosemary has a thing about hats, she refuses to keep them on!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo KnottedPfft_zpsardwbat0.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/KnottedPfft_zpsardwbat0.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
We also learned that you MUST pack a change of outfit as well as nappy changing kit, when going out. Fortunately it was a hot day, so I put her nappy-only in my wrap after nipping into the public loo and using the changing table.<br />
<br />
<br />
I'm still trying to reconcile that this is 50% my DNA and 50% Jo's. That we are responsible for this tiny, helpless, human. But, oh boy is she cute! I'll leave you with this photo of her stunned face:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo wide-eyed_zpszmyp33vh.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Rosemary%202016/wide-eyed_zpszmyp33vh.jpg" /></a><br />

Nothing new there. What WAS new was the weather I woke up to!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo SnowyMorning_zpsep9lj4sj.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/SnowyMorning_zpsep9lj4sj.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Erm... April...snow? Funnily enough, the morning plane was cancelled (no visible airstrip), but the evening plane was delayed enough that I got to fly. But not before I got these photos:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo SnowyAirport_zpsw0hvcypl.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/SnowyAirport_zpsw0hvcypl.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BrrAirport_zpsihf9hi6p.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/BrrAirport_zpsihf9hi6p.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The airport staff had somehow managed to clear the runways. After living here for over four years, you forget about things like snow ploughs, we just don't need them. But apparently they keep something that can do the job, just in case.<br />
<br />
And just to really confuse, I took this photo of Mummy song thrush and her babies the day before:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo FledglingSongthrush_zps8p6xbtbf.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/FledglingSongthrush_zps8p6xbtbf.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Today is bright, but windy. Perfect laundry weather!<br />
<br />
TTFNFluzzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10551699526195194894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4158471586708618422.post-45388647296890463592016-04-22T13:36:00.001-07:002016-04-22T13:36:40.681-07:00Lots of newNew house, new camera, new beach, lots of new.<br />
<br />
New house:<br />
<br />
Yep, we moved. Hynish View has been sold and so we have moved to one of the school houses. It's huge, centrally heated, and has stairs. And a lovely set of gardens with hedges! I can now hang out my laundry without everyone who passes by seeing what colour our underthings are.<br />
<br />
In the hedge near the laundry poles we have a nesting birdy. She's a song thrush and has at least three little peepers to raise:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Mamabird_zpsfvtdcdtl.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Mamabird_zpsfvtdcdtl.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I check on her (from a distance) when I hang out laundry and she doesn't seem fazed by it all.<br />
<br />
I've got my own room! No longer am I camping in the living room, I now have my own room to make a mess in. I have treated myself to a shoe organiser thing to hold all my wool fibre for needle felting:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo FibreRack_zps0mww1yii.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/FibreRack_zps0mww1yii.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
and I also treated myself to a painting by Grom that I collected after we moved and now lives above my desk. On the left is Grom's lighthouse, on the right is a mixed media that I got for my 30th from Blue Beyond.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ArtyDesk_zpscnnzh9fh.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/ArtyDesk_zpscnnzh9fh.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Somewhere, I have a framed painting from when I went to Paris with my parents; that will go in the middle when I find it. It's very nice to actually be able to hang things here. So long as we neatly fill the holes before we leave, it's allowed.<br />
<br />
I'm working on something new for the babby. It involves some sticks:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo CrossedSticks_zpslgs9c5bm.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/CrossedSticks_zpslgs9c5bm.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
and needle felted bits:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Bodies_zpskzf9huex.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/Bodies_zpskzf9huex.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
It will be a mobile of sheep, but I need to make the heads and feet which is waiting for my urge to felt to come back. Baby is waking me up at all hours and making it hard to sleep because of limited positions, so my energy levels are a little low. It's lovely, and weird, to feel and watch your belly moving about, but Silly AM is not a time I wish to be awake. Still, it's good practice. Baby will be here in less than ten weeks. Yes, we are down to single digits! I have two washes to do and all the baby-related laundry will be done.<br />
<br />
My little oak sapling has some lovely green buds this year:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo OakSapling_zpstb6vrbyc.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/OakSapling_zpstb6vrbyc.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I was worried it might not revive after last year's rather lack-lustre weather, but it's doing fine and has a sunny, yet sheltered, spot in the new garden.<br />
<br />
and we have a new beach to roam!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo NewBeach_zps2lwal7st.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/NewBeach_zps2lwal7st.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo NewBeach2_zpsfppsfzt3.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/NewBeach2_zpsfppsfzt3.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The route we found to it takes us to the top of dunes, but I have been assured there's another route.<br />
<br />
So, yes, new, new, new!<br />

<br />
October saw the Tech Wave but I was a tad "off sorts" so this is the only photo that's worth sharing:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo MakerbotFamily_zpsypffgagh.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/MakerbotFamily_zpsypffgagh.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Family of makerbots!<br />
<br />
In November Jo baked a HUGE parkin, weighing the ingredients proved...inventive.<br />
<br />
<b><a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo XmasBaking_zpsx0acnrjj.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/XmasBaking_zpsx0acnrjj.jpg" /></a></b><br />
<br />
But those aren't the reasons I've been absent. At the start of October I went to the nurse with some odd feelings and we did a little test. One that comes back with either one line or two.<br />
<b> </b><br />
Two came back!<b></b><br />
<br />
A few weeks later we had a bit of a scare, so Jo and I went to the early pregnancy unit at Glasgow. After some anxious waiting and a lot of scanning...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BabbyBennett_zpstf674krq.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BabbyBennett_zpstf674krq.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
That is an eight week old fetus! It's little heart was going crazy and it already had the wriggles. We are very much overjoyed.<br />
<br />
Then in December it was time for the 13week scan. Unfortunately, due to the rains and havoc that went on around Cumbria my Mum couldn't make it up and Jo wasn't going to try and get a work day off, so I went alone.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 13wkscan3_zpsjtiiixge.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/13wkscan3_zpsjtiiixge.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Talk about wriggly!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 13wkscan2_zps6cq0svb3.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/13wkscan2_zps6cq0svb3.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The little dear was doing kangaroo impressions and refusing to pose for the midwife scanning it. But she was very happy with how it looked and I went home with more photos. <br />
<br />
Today the pram arrived, Pippa is NOT impressed that she won't be the baby all year.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo NotImpressed_zps6rimqu2m.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Photos2016/NotImpressed_zps6rimqu2m.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I must say though, even as an engineer, I canNOT fathom the waterproof cover! I shall be Googling that one.<br />
<br />
So, yeah, updates are going to be a bit sporadic this year. Baby is due in June and we are attempting to pack things we don't really need because we dearly hope to have our own Tiree house this year.<br />
<br />
It's all go!<br />
<br />

This evening saw a gorgeous sunset over Beinn Hough and me stood on the verge across the road snapping shots.<br />
<br />
I did try to turn these into a gif but the quality was terrible, so you'll just have to scroll down to see the clouds shift across the sky and the colour drain towards the horizon.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
Just so you can see the difference, here's the first and last of the series:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BigSkies1_zpsqcrmey43.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BigSkies1_zpsqcrmey43.jpg" /></a><br />

<br />
<br />
There was a blood moon last night; amazing to watch the moon slowly get eclipsed and then go red. Alas, I didn't have my camera in focus so I got blurry blobs.<br />
<br />
It was weird to see a moon that wasn't white!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Blood1_zpss43ol4lh.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Blood1_zpss43ol4lh.jpg" /></a><br />

<br />
That's it for now, we've had the school gala day but I failed to take photos due to having my own stall to man and managing the money from Jo's ice cream stall. Talk about busy! The school did well though, they made roughly £2k. Not bad for an island with 650 population and 330 of voting age.<br />
<br />

So much work for no pay! I may not have a full time job, but I put in the hours.<br />
<br />
So, here's a load of photos that have backed up in my album and the odd explanation.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo DangleBee_zpsmcvaafo4.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/DangleBee_zpsmcvaafo4.jpg" /></a><br />

I finished the Týrvist shawl! Need to neaten the pattern, get a nice day for a photo and I can start selling the pattern.<br />

This huge bird pops by our back garden sometimes, handy fence. Turns out it's a female hen harrier.<br />
<br />
Oooh, yes, it was the Tiree Ultra Marathon last Sunday. I volunteered to do finish times and had a *really* good day! It was great cheering people and watching them perk up knowing the finish was finally there after just shy of 35 miles.<br />
<br />
Last year there were about 50 runners, think it was less. This year over 200! Some were in teams, most were doing the whole stint. Will, of Tiree Fitness, organised the whole thing and can be seen here on the phone finding out who was pulling out, times, how it was going, etc.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo WillInAction_zpsojhg4qzs.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/WillInAction_zpsojhg4qzs.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
His lovely wife, Becky of Chocolates and Charms, ran the cafe, and oh, what a cafe!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Caaaake_zpsfv5szswg.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Caaaake_zpsfv5szswg.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Sitting at the finish line you were repeatedly wafted the smell of amazingly delicious lasagne. Wonderful!<br />
<br />
I think I shall forever remember the gent who finished and said, very honestly, "I never want to see another beach again in my life." <br />
<br />
<br />
The winner won it for the 2nd time in a row, they went the other way round this time which added 15min to his previous time but he still finished around the 4hr mark. Scary!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 1stToFinish_zpswwxsfvoa.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/1stToFinish_zpswwxsfvoa.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />There was a big group called "Cani sports" I think, who usually run with their dogs, but this time the dogs got the day off, except this one:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 1stDog_zpspb9in302.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/1stDog_zpspb9in302.jpg" /></a><br />
"You've rolled up your paws!" <br />
<br />
His little dog was VERY happy to see him complete.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo DoggyLove_zps27bbehlk.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/DoggyLove_zps27bbehlk.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Know how a lot of these people were running nearly 35 miles?<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Bikes3_zpsbadd93e5.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Bikes3_zpsbadd93e5.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
They were also cycling to and from their accommodation AND danced that evening!<br />
<br />
With that, I am going to go snap the amazing sunrise. <br />

I swear it was only last week I turned 32.<br />
<br />
So why have I declared July busy when the weather report says it was damp and cool?<br />
<br />
Because I've reopened <a href="http://www.thewoollyferret.co.uk/" target="_blank">The Woolly Ferret</a>! <br />
<br />
I've expanded the kinds of things I sell and removed things that didn't. This meant an evening of dyeing:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo DyeNight_zpss6aoailz.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/DyeNight_zpss6aoailz.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And many hours spread over weeks spent sticking tiny, barbed, needles into wool to create little creatures that sell quicker than I can make them:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Trike2_zpstxf97w8y.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Trike2_zpstxf97w8y.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Spheriele_zpshmf0gjjm.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Spheriele_zpshmf0gjjm.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BunnySide_zpsifnnvt3d.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BunnySide_zpsifnnvt3d.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo LostPanda_zpswdtcoria.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/LostPanda_zpswdtcoria.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The round ones are called Spheribeasts(C) and are my latest creation. I've got about 35 designs sketched out to try too.<br />
<br />
Nearly three weeks ago I caught my first Wild Tiree Haggis!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo HaggisFront_zps10gfwbkg.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/HaggisFront_zps10gfwbkg.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
They have two legs shorter than the others so they can run around hills easier. They also hunt tumshies. If you want the full details you'll have to buy one from my shop; it comes with a little card explaining their habits and habitats.<br />
<br />
During July a group of us who do crafts but have no shop have been running the "mini handmade market" at the Rural Centre, every thursday from 11am to 5pm. Originally it was 11-3 but we added the two hours to catch the tour bus crowd.<br />
<br />
I also had a stall at the agricultural show this year:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ReadyToSell_zpsdxxloqso.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/ReadyToSell_zpsdxxloqso.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I had a few guests. <br />
<br />
One was this little spider that was *determined* to build a web between my felting needle and a roll of yarn:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo TinySpidder_zpsbmamzslo.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/TinySpidder_zpsbmamzslo.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The other is a gift for an artist who's work I love called <a href="https://www.facebook.com/amyvaleillustration" target="_blank">Amy Vale</a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo HoraceandHaggis_zpsca0slvec.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/HoraceandHaggis_zpsca0slvec.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
He's called Horace and I made the felt version based on a badge of him I bought before Amy went on hols to Sweden. As I don't want him getting lost in the post, he's having the odd adventure here until she gets back and then he will fly off the island to a new home.<br />
<br />
The show had a good day weather-wise and was pretty darn busy! So busy that I didn't really get to go explore this time. What I did manage was to get photos from the first session done by the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/clanstuntshow" target="_blank">The Clan Stunt Team.</a><br />
<br />
They warmed up with a jumping challenge. One rider (Ross?) did sideways "bunny hops":<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BunnyBike1_zpsgb9fd6gi.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BunnyBike1_zpsgb9fd6gi.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BunnyBike2_zpssehcqswr.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BunnyBike2_zpssehcqswr.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BunnyBike3_zpsbjektacb.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BunnyBike3_zpsbjektacb.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
While the other rider, (Dan?) did a run-up-and-forward-fling:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo LiftOff_zpswiaztbom.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/LiftOff_zpswiaztbom.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ForwardFling_zpsjbeoo4cx.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/ForwardFling_zpsjbeoo4cx.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Ross managed to give himself a huge bruise during the second session so Dan showed off by doing a bunny hop higher than Ross had managed the first session:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo GiantHop_zpsvdeqkytv.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/GiantHop_zpsvdeqkytv.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I think it was 1.25m or some insane height!<br />
<br />
They were both hopping about like springs, including on this scaffold with it's "ladder":<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Ladder1_zpseplaikve.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Ladder1_zpseplaikve.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Ladder2_zpsymrgxfrv.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Ladder2_zpsymrgxfrv.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Clearing an 8ft gap:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 8ftLeap_zps4j1034i5.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/8ftLeap_zps4j1034i5.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And here we have Dan about to mercilessly murder a can of Pepsi:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Launchpad_zps3n7ueela.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Launchpad_zps3n7ueela.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo PreCrush_zpsizkezqyd.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/PreCrush_zpsizkezqyd.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
If I recall correctly, this was an 8ft or so drop, aiming for something that's maybe 3" across?!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Splash_zps4hcdmyem.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Splash_zps4hcdmyem.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Poor can!<br />
<br />
So, yes, between the making, the ordering, the planning; the markets; doing half a day at the museum on Fridays; and resting an injured hand, I have been B.U.S.Y!<br />
<br />
Combine the above with the weather not really being going-out weather and I'm a bit short on photos, sorry.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I have typed enough.<br />
<br />
TTFN and do come visit the mini markets if you're passing Tiree on a Thursday, we're doing them all August. I am under orders not to type too much so I'm doing it in stages. For now, enjoy a little elephant:<br />

<br />
I've designed a Tiree-inspired shawl and knit about 3/4 of it.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Tyrv_zps0j9b3xng.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Tyrv_zps0j9b3xng.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
When my hand started to hurt knitting that, I took a break and did some beading:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo NeedleCase_zpsqrbfyh8z.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/NeedleCase_zpsqrbfyh8z.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
This is a needlecase, I've always wanted one and decided to treat myself. <br />
<br />
That's it really, been a quiet time.<br />

Apologies for the long silence, Life has been getting in the way and the weather's been so cold and wet there's not been much photography going on either.<br />
<br />
Back in April/May Jo and I performed major trike surgery. The bottom bracket (bit that sits in the frame and allows the pedal cranks to rotate freely) had died a death and as the bike shop in Oban hadn't been open when we went over, it was left to us to replace it.<br />
<br />
New tools were purchased, new parts, and one cold but sunny day the trike was overturned for it's new hip.<br />
<br />
I'm not entirely Bakfiets.nl thought through their design and parts list with regards to long-term use. <br />
<br />
You see, the bottom bracket is held in by two "caps". These are usually made of metal and the tool to undo them is also metal. The ones on our trike? Plastic.<br />
<br />
Plastic, like metal, doesn't fare well over time on Tiree. It usually goes brittle and shatters easily. This plastic did the opposite; it went soft. You know those shatter-proof rulers you got at school? The ones you could (should you be inclined) chew and leave perfect impressions in? Same texture.<br />
<br />
Now, take that plastic, as thin as the rulers, and apply a similarly thin metal tool with only three points of contact and apply torque... Yup, mess. The caps refused to come off clearly. The first I knew of it was when Jo came in for a drill. <br />
<br />
A drill?!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Toolkit_zpshyqpdsxn.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Toolkit_zpshyqpdsxn.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo InAction_zpssxjolu5g.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/InAction_zpssxjolu5g.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ObviousChoice_zpsc4hq5htw.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/ObviousChoice_zpsc4hq5htw.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
After a drill, knife, pliers, hand-drill, and a hammer and chunk of wood...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo HollowWithTools_zps2r41gmfw.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/HollowWithTools_zps2r41gmfw.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Yes, you read that right, chunk of wood. The old bracket was so rusted and broken it was aiding the jam and seeing as we didn't need it or any of the other parts, we stuck a chunk of wood in the hole to bash the bits out the other side. Brute force and ignorance wins again.<br />
<br />
The bracket had shattered some time ago it seems,<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Shattered_zps91vznn4e.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Shattered_zps91vznn4e.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Old and new:<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo OldandNew_zpsxrnjqa1k.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/OldandNew_zpsxrnjqa1k.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Yup, three years on Tiree takes its toll.<br />
<br />
The new bracket was fitted, and looks so shiny!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo NewBracket_zpsw65p7kpb.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/NewBracket_zpsw65p7kpb.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
It was new tire time too.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo NewTyre_zpsxyd0g8fg.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/NewTyre_zpsxyd0g8fg.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And new sprocket. More rusty parts were removed.<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo RustyBits_zpsxicmdapk.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/RustyBits_zpsxicmdapk.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
See those bolts with a nut on one and and a hole at the other? Rusted stiff. One snapped clear off. Jo spent hours looking for replacements without success. I think I finally found some mid-June, it's just a case of wanting to loosen the back wheel to install them.<br />
<br />
So, that was trike surgery. Honestly, if anyone else on this island gets one of these trikes, I'll be the go-to expert at this rate!<br />
<br />

Quick, grab those sheep, the might look like an uneaten teacake!<br />

No teacakes here, just us in our cool outfits!<br />

<i>baaaa!</i><br />
<br />
(Unfortunately for them, I was not fooled)<br />
<br />
I've been crafty too. Been wanting<i> </i>to make a rice bag type thing for needle felting as a lot of folks find it better than foam and my piece of foam is getting a bit used in places. But with mice randomly checking for tidbits and a dog who can find food easier than she can find the living room, using rice was not going to work. I asked on Ravelry and someone mentioned the plastic stuff that's used to weight down dolls and stuffed toys. Little EBay hunt later and I had some recycled plastic pellets on the way.<br />
<br />
Last night I got out the hessian I'd bought yonks ago and made a not-rice bag!<br />
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo TunnocksRiceBag_zpsx2udxq9y.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/TunnocksRiceBag_zpsx2udxq9y.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Yes, it fits in a Tunnocks teacake box. I've also ordered myself a nice wooden box for my needle felting stuff, the cardboard box I have is getting more and more bashed and isn't really deep enough for a work in progress. Plus, the box is unfinished so I can decorate it!<br />
<br />
Remember the blanket I started in October last year? The one with the diagonally striped squares? Finally finished it last week. Yesterday I washed it and it was hung out to be breezed and dried the Tiree way.<br />
<br />

<br />
I admit to thinking I am NEVER knitting that pattern again, but I did LOVE the recipient's reaction. It may have been late, but the timing was perfect. It's now with its new owner who is very happy indeed.<br />

That's the current photo and video
count on my Nikon. I have `now overtaken the Kodak that stood at
6431. I've had the Nikon a third of the time. I might be able to
claim “Nutter with a shutter” status now.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Jo and I went to Oban this past
weekend. His parents were doing their tour of the children and the
country. As we were to leave on the Saturday boat and return on the
Tuesday evening ferry we thought to contact a cycle shop in Oban to
get the trike serviced. We had all the parts, but it is nicer for
someone who's done this for a while to do it. So on Saturday I got
the bus and Jo set off with the trike.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
We had the Clansman out and back.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo IncomingClansman_zps5foyoofq.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/IncomingClansman_zps5foyoofq.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
It came in to Tiree very light.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo VeryLightFerry_zpsqgmzjzoe.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/VeryLightFerry_zpsqgmzjzoe.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Positively swung round the turn to dock.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo LeaningClansman_zps06tsnz8j.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/LeaningClansman_zps06tsnz8j.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
It was rather a mixed day weather-wise;
consistent wind but inconsistent precipitation. Sun, rain, snow,
hail, sleet, we saw it all in an hour. But the sea was fairly calm
and it was a very pleasant sail over. I got a bit of knitting done
and had a nice doze, Jo read most of a book.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Once in Oban it was damp. Not outright
pouring it down, just constant mizzle with the odd bit of rain. The
Clansman had apparently had a bit of a knock to her paintwork below
water level.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo BitBashed_zpszmg6yo5k.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/BitBashed_zpszmg6yo5k.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Jo and the other cyclists had to wait
for the cars to disembark, including those on the mezzanine deck, so
his parents and I had a bit of a wait for him. But unlike boarding,
I got to photograph the trike leaving the ferry. In this case
alongside a kayak with it's own little wheels.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo KayakandTrike_zps9btsua9u.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/KayakandTrike_zps9btsua9u.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
We trotted round to the entrance to the
flat building and I took the bags up with Jo's parents while he took
the trike to the shop. It is a lovely flat and I was so relaxed up
there I completely forgot to photograph the view! It was very close
to the train station and above the bus stops so we got to spend a
fair bit of time watching folk coming and going, including Jo coming
back with the trike!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Turned out that the shop had closed
early (we don't know why, perhaps an emergency) and they weren't
answering the phone either. So Jo and his Mum found it a good place
in the car park and we all went shopping to Tesco where Jo purchased
two extra bike locks. The trike can easily be moved if you know how
unless you add an extra lock or two.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Jo had left his mobile on the ferry, this caused a very amusing scene when it was announced and suddenly everyone on deck did the "have I got mine? dance", caused Jo's parents to laugh on the shoreside. Before we went shopping we trotted to the ferry office to reclaim it. I saw this basket of crabs outside a van offering fresh cooked treats:</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo Livecrabs_zpsqglsefbu.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/Livecrabs_zpsqglsefbu.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
They are alive. I was surprised they hadn't made a bid for freedom! Upon picking one up (a lad watching me jumped back just in case it attacked him) I found out they were very sluggish and grumpy. Quite hefty critters too.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Sunday the family went to church and I
took a wander. I didn't know at that point that there were two sets
of keys so I made a mad dash back when I noticed the churches had
cleared out only to find them all happily settled. Oh well. That
afternoon we went to Curachan, the hollow mountain.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Curachan was the first reversible
pump/generator station in the UK, possibly the world (I can't
remember) and is 90% efficient, not bad at all! You can't take
cameras or bags inside which is actually a nice break. The tour
guide and her “glamourous driver” were great and full of
enthusiasm even on the last tour of the day. It truly is worth a
visit I think, even if all you do is admire the loch.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo CruachanLoch_zpsmj6o5laj.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/CruachanLoch_zpsmj6o5laj.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
On Monday we took a footpath in the
direction of Dunollie castle. At the end of the paved bit you could
either go up to the castle, up into the forest or back the way you'd
come. Jo and his Dad went adventuring up into the forest and to the
summit of the hill there, his Mum and I decided to walk back. I then
went shopping. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Loved this painting for the seal colony cruise:</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo SealColony_zpshgoceztf.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/SealColony_zpshgoceztf.jpg" /></a> </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I had a list of bits I could only really get on the
mainland and that couldn't come by mail without adding extra
instructions like “surface mail only”. I had a pretty good
explore and satisfied my yarn cravings with a visit to the two yarn
shops. Didn't spend a fortune this time either. I even found a new
pair of trainers and some snow boots that are waterproof to over the
foot. I am prepared for next winter.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Tuesday morning we went to Aldi, Lidl,
Homebase and Tesco. Just getting various bits and some fresh stuff
to bring home. We got a giant tarpaulin too which we used to wrap up
all the shopping and Jo's rucksack in the basket of the trike. The
weather forecast said it was going to be Wet on Tiree and it wasn't
kidding!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The journey home was a little rougher
but while the stabilisers were out it was perfectly fine. The view
was rather...monochromatic?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ViewHome_zpsnoondr9u.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/ViewHome_zpsnoondr9u.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Now then, here's a conundrum for you: What do you do if your phone battery is dead and the only socket available is 7ft off the floor? The phone won't balance on the poster frames under the socket and the charger cable leaves the phone dangling precariously.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
No ideas? Well, other than the obvious wait until you get to your destination.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Use a detachable hood!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo HangingCamera_zpsgexhxwee.jpg" border="0" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/Fluzz/Fluzzs%20Photos%202015/HangingCamera_zpsgexhxwee.jpg" /></a> </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
As for the weather at home, WET.
Absolutely pouring with rain that had just enough wind to get under
hat brims. By the time I got on the bus all I could see was huge
water droplets on my glasses. We had planned to unload the trike
onto the bus to save Jo effort but it really was too wet for that.
So I rode back with two bags on the bus and Jo pedalled back with two
crates, one coolbox, one rucksack and various extra bits all wrapped
in a tarpaulin in the trike.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
He's now outside drilling holes in the
trike. But that's another post.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
